The Consortium is an accredited Institute of Leadership and Management Centre. The ILM is part of the City and Guilds group and is Europe’s largest awarding organisation for leadership and management qualifications. It is also a professional body with over 28, 000 members. The ILM Centre currently has approval to offer the following qualifications:

This Award gives practising and potential team leaders and first-line managers a foundation for their formal development in a management role. Delivery the Award focuses on the provision of underpinning knowledge and the integration of knowledge and understanding into the work situation. Assessment includes completion of a work-based assignment examining ways to address a current workplace problem.

The Award is made up of Units, each of which has a credit rating within the Qualifications and Credit Framework.

This qualification gives team leaders and first-line managers the opportunity to develop and practise coaching as an effective way of passing on experience and expertise and of helping individuals to improve their performance. Delivery and assessment of the Award focus on understanding, planning and delivering coaching within the workplace. Candidates are required to undertake at least 6 hours of practical coaching activity on completion of the teaching.
