Yorkshire & Humberside Consortium is one of nine Consortia across England and Wales which works to deliver a range of training to the four Probation Areas of the region.
The work of the Consortium is overseen by an Executive Committee which reports back to the Consortium Board Members.
Our Staff
Steve Cosgrove - Consortium Director. Steve came to the Consortium from South Yorkshire Probation Area in 1998 as the Programme Manager (Diploma in Probation Studies) and played an important role in establishing the principals, protocols and practice of the Diploma Programme. Steve was appointed as Consortium Director in May 2003.
David Atkinson - Regional Effective Practice Training Manager. David came to the Consortium from West Yorkshire Probation Area. Initially David was responsible for the delivery of Collaborative Training events across the region. More recently David's post has been funded by the National Probation Directorate and he has had national roll out responsibility for training staff to deliver accredited programmes in Enhanced Thinking Skills (E.T.S.) and Controlling Anger and Learning to Manage It (CALM).
Phil Clare - Programme Manager (DipPS). Phil came to the Consortium in 2003 from Humberside Probation Area where he had previously worked as a Senior Probation Officer. The post of Programme Manager is jointly funded by the Probation Service and the universities (Bradford, Hull and Sheffield Hallam) which provide the academic element of the Diploma. Phil carries full day-to-day responsibility for the Diploma in Probation Studies Programme, working closely with Probation Staff and university representatives to ensure that the practice and academic halves of the programme are properly integrated.
Roger Geeson - Learning & Development Manager. Recently appointed Roger joins us from West Yorkshire Probation Area where he had experience as a Practice Development Assessor (Trainee Probation Officer Supervisor) and Level 3 NVQ Co-ordinator. Roger is responsible for managing our NVQ Centre and our Institute of Leadership Management (ILM) Accredited Centre.
Liz Lucas - Learning Support Manager. Liz worked for South Yorkshire Probation Area as a Practice Development Assessor prior to her coming to the Consortium in 2002. Liz is currently overseeing development of NVQ Level 3 Candidates and Assessor candidates.
